Day 21, 22, 23

Saturday was a tough one, and I think it all had to do with the impending meeting of my writing group the next day and the associated anxiety of having to read and excerpt aloud. ^^ I had decided to go with an o-fic snippet, and since I'm veeeeeery protective of my o-fic stuff, not to mention first drafts in general, I was really nervous about having to put something together that I could present to the rest of my group mates. I only managed 736 words, but that was at least half of the scene I'd chosen in the shower that day, haha, so I had no complaints. <3 Writing with the intention of reading aloud is naturally a more sluggish process, and it sorta goes against the freedom of the NaNo philosophy. But anyways, 736 is way better than 0. \o/
Sunday I managed to finish enough of the scene to bring it with me to the group meeting, and then when I got home I managed to make some headway with my actual NaNo project from the desperation of staying ahead of the daily quota guidelines. I was so far ahead for a while there, I just can't stand to have my stats graph dip down below the daily goal, you know? ^^; In any case, I was focused on beating the expected total of 36,667 instead of making my personal 2000 word quota, and thus ended up at 1956. So close! XDDDDD But whatever, my o-fic scene went over very well in group, and I know exactly what I'll be writing for next week's meeting too. So I can relax now, lol.
Today I worked hard since my brothers are coming into town tomorrow for Thanksgiving holiday, and the impact of having them around is an unknown factor. On the one hand they might be out in the TV room most of the time, which means I can write in peace. But who knows what randomnimity might be afoot, yeah? I wanted to cross 39,000 today, so I really hunkered down and managed 2321 for the day, making my total thus far:
39068 / 50000 words. 78% done!
Woo! Progress! XD Seven days left to pass 50K--I'm stoked. ♥
